Sherlock made more Productive
In many ways the character presented in the show "Sherlock" is very similar to that in the books. He is very intelligent, seemingly lacks emotion, and often is rude to other people; but in one way, they are very different. In the book, Watson describes Sherlock as occasionally coming out of his drug-induced stupor to pursue an interesting case, while in the show, he is portrayed as lazy and rude but very productive. He is constantly pursuing a new case. It seems that the producers of the show have bowdlerized the content.
I think it's merely an adaptation, and when you adapt a show some changes need to be made so that it plays correctly.
ReplyDeleteAlthough Cumberbatch!Sherlock isn't a cocaine addict (as far as I know...) but he does have a significant nicotine addiction as seen in the Bohemia episode.
